Spoiled in Auburndale

I went to the track at Aurburndale for a night of what I thought would be a good time racing.I am the Goodyear tire distriutor for my area of florida.Early in the evening I was approached By A car Owner named Alvia Carter who owns the car the Track owner Rex Guy's son Jon Guy Drives, He asked for 4 new Goodyear tires. I gave him the four new tires and I was to be paid by Rex alittle later. However what actualy took place was Jon put the tires on the car and then practice, then he proceeded to race a heat race. when he didn't feel like he liked the way the tires worked he simplely took them off his car and dropped them off at my trailer with no intention of paying for them. This was the first time I ever heard of were if you use something you don't like it you just bring it back after you used it. I wonder if you can demand you money back if the racing doesn't go your way hmmm. Well I can't wait till they find out that Goodyear doesn't make any other tire then the ones we were given and they won't be making any special tires for our cars. I wonder if this has ever happened to anyone else. I think all Drivers not just the dwarf car guy's should know what goes on at that track.I couldn't believe that they held up the feature Race for princce Jon but I guess if your daddy runs the show you can get some special treatment.Well I could go on but I won't. I justed wanted to air what was on my mind. My advise to all is beware you can't trust anyone. I hope this keeps some other poor sucker from being good natured and trusting like I was.:mad:

Wow, are you in trouble. First post on this board and you attack a track owner. And in the wrong section. If you post on this board you must only post positive things. If you feel you must complain, you must put it in the complainers corner.

you were slamming the track owner, but after a second reading, its the car owner (not the track owner or his son) that asked for the tires.

Did you search the car owner out and deal with him or is this public board your way of getting paid for the tires. If so, you need to grow a set, and deal with the car owner directly - either way, it appears you have learned a lesson in business.

If the track waits for a driver (or Not) has nothing to do with a tire salesman and that appeared to be a cheap shot on your part.
I am surprised that a GOODYEAR REP would air out his laundry on a message board... (not really impressed with your method)

Wonder if the track owner will be waiting for you at the gate on your next visit.

..about this story. Does A-dale use Goodyear as a track tire?
Were the tires flawed? One heat race is not a breakin for new tires either.
We have always run a few laps and then cooled them off at the water hose as Goodyear has suggested in the past.

Something is missing from this story as I said. And OSF has a very good point as well.

Yeah that ones a little iffy, but I didn't want him to win either.

To the Goodyear guy, that really sucks man, I hate to see that happen to anyone but since your in the giving mood, can I have a set of tires too? 15X8's or 15X10s depending on where I race. 2"-3" stagger will be fine.

Personally I feel bad for the guy. I know if one of my employees gave $300-$400 worth of merchandise away I would have a very difficult time keeping them. Granted, the guy may have aired it out the wrong way but that doesn't take away the fact that he was totally worked over and could end up losing his job.

Maybe a call to Rex or the car owner would have been a little more proper.

As far as the Goodyear man ..if he really IS one. He is a dumb ass for sure. MONEY UP FRONT is how things work. Second most all of us on here KNOW that Auburndale DOESN'T USE GOODYEAR!!!!! Any real sales rep. would go to the OWNER of the track (which isn't Rex to begin with) IT'S his in-laws. Rex just runs it. I also notice that he never posted back to any of these posts either. prince jon.. thats funny! i was on your side until that, this sounds more like a personal shot at jonathan or rex. everyone has flaws, but i can't amagine rex doing business like this. you should have went to the car owner and got your money, or maybe call rex. blasting them on here was not the best thing to do. imo

Ok , Just so everyone understands it's not about the money for the tires or if I will race at Auburndale again. IT was always about the treatment I recieved,I have always been a gentlemen when I dealt with Rex or anyone else for that matter. I wrote this bacically to get there attention as he first blew me off at the track. I was pissed and I was left to figure this out for myself,So I posted this message like it or not it is what it is.Maybe this isn't the best way to do it but i felt it was my only opption.I did go back and speak to goodyear again and my words once more fell on deaf ears.So here we are you may think what you like about this but I now think it's water over the dam.

Everyone knows there is two sides to every story, now we have heard this GoodYear dealers side and I as a fan would like to hear Mr. Carters side, will investigate further.
Also in the 5 years I have watched "Prince Jon" he has repeatedly put on a phenomenal performance in all classes he has driven in, for this they should call him "King Jon" for this kid puts on a show, to the fans who have booed "King Jon", I truly believe that someday you will look back and say I used to boo that kid with a big smile on your face.

I have only watched that young man race once and he did indeed put on a hell of a show (and won). He sounded like he was an ok person when they interviewed him post race. I then read that he does alot of the work at the track as well.

I was amazed to watch him get out of that car... he just kept coming out, coming out, coming out and then he finally stood up and was WAY taller than the car...

Some peps might just be jealous don't you think.
