until he goes through tech that is....

1. Augie Grill
2. Matt Hawkins
3. Jeff Fultz
4. Eddie Mercer
5. Clay Rogers

Mike Fritts was looking good with under 50 to go, but wasn't to be. Wayne Anderson got caught up in a wreck, as did Justin Drawdy I believe.

You must have been watching all day too! Report from the track has Choquette about 7th or 8th.
The Speed51 coverage is cool as can be. I haven't been able to pull away from the screen all day.
Good job by Augie, but I was sure pulling for Matt Hawkins though.

Guys, that was an awesome race! Not sure if it translated on the internet and radio, but it was action packed from top to bottom. The new tires made such a difference, you were never really out of it even if you lost a lap because you could throw new tires on and come up to the front and immediately get it back. Choquette pulled that once and ended up with tenth.

The fastest car won, but Hawkins was almost his equal, they dominated...Watching them come through traffic with new tires was nothing short of bad-ass.

Hawkins pit-crew was from a pit crew school in NC and I guess they were the graduating class. The got him off pit road 1st every time.

Wish I could type more on my phone, but it is hell with these little keys....Suffice it to say that this race lived up to the hype and the hype was huge.

If you ever come, be sure to spend the extra $30 and get the pit passes, you can check out tech first hand, which we did and you will gain a new appreciation for what that guy is up against. Fritts and Cale Gale nearly had trouble in tech - Fritts was dead on with the height, most others were .75 or so over. Cale had to make adjustments on the rear end, which may be why he wasnt the same in the race.

Bubba... we did that exact thing last year, going through the pits and watching the tech process. They are tough on everyone. No such thing as "close enough". Width, height, weight, left side percentages, windshield angle, spoiler angle, underclearance.... if it ain't right, you ain't racin'.
Kyle Busch and Steven Wallace and a few others, can be as upset that they want to be with Brooks, but the other 130 cars that passed were on the correct side of the limits... they were NOT, and didn't get to race.
Glad to see they didn't get the wink and a nod, just because they are Nascar guys. Maybe next year, they will decide to play by the rules that everyone else has to.
